Amar Singh Chamkila was called the original rockstar of Punjab. He was a folk singer. His songs had made the record of highest record selling. He was born in 1960 in Punjab. He was fond of singing since childhood. At the age of just 20, Amar had achieved that fame, which people spend their entire life to achieve. But he was murdered at the age of 27. It was the ill-fated day of March 8, 1988, when Chamkila was murdered in broad daylight by the attackers. 35 years have passed since his death, but till date the killers have not been found.
